MCHS Alumni Foundation making 2009 Homecoming plans

Homecoming 2009 will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16 and 17 in Mt. Carmel, the
Mt.  Carmel High School Alumni Foundation announced this week.

The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces football team will host its Homecoming game at
Riverview Stadium  on Friday evening beginning at 7 p.m., and the alumni will once
again hold their all-school Alumni  Gathering that Saturday.

The next MCHS Alumni Foundation meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 17, at the
Mt. Carmel  Public Library meeting room from 6:30-8 p.m. Any class scheduling a
reunion this year that would  like to be a part of Homecoming 2009 is welcome to send
representatives to this meeting to  coordinate their plans with the other activities set to
occur that weekend.

MEMBERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The MCHS Alumni Foundation reminds any alumnus of Mt. Carmel High School of the
foundation’s “Lifetime Membership” and the “Annual Membership” programs.

The alumni foundation offers a “Lifetime” membership enrollment to any individual
wishing to  contribute $500 or more to the foundation.

In return, those supporters will receive lifetime free admission to any MCHS-sponsored
sports,  academic, music, art or other event held at MCHS. Free admission is not
available for any  tournament events

Lifetime members will also receive free admission to the Alumni Dance, set for
Saturday evening  during Homecoming weekend.

Any graduate of MCHS wishing to support the foundation as a lifetime contributor will
be formally  recognized on the “MCHS Alumni Lifetime Membership” plaque to be
displayed in the main area  of the high school.

For a fee of $25, an alumnus of MCHS can also become an annual gifting member to
the  foundation, and will receive free admission to the Alumni Social Hour and Dance
held each year  during Homecoming weekend.

Donations may be made to the MCHS Alumni Foundation, c/o Jamie McCorkle,
Wilcox,  McCorkle & Co., Certified Public Accountants, 328 North Market St, Mt.
Carmel, IL 62863.

Upon receipt of a lifetime contribution, new members will receive a laminated “free
admissions”  pass to have available when attending events at MCHS.

Annual gifting members will be placed on the “free admission” list at the annual alumni
gathering  held during Homecoming.

The alumni foundation first announced the new membership programs during the 2007
Homecoming week, and has been encouraged by the response it has received. It will
continue to be  the goal of the foundation to use the membership funds to directly
support projects at the high  school.

HALL OF FAME

The next MCHS Hall of Fame Induction will be held in 2012, the alumni foundation
announced.  Consideration had been given to conduct the next MCHS Hall of Fame in
2010 but, due to other  commitments to the high school and the cost of hosting the Hall
of Fame program, the foundation  has elected to hold this event every five years.
